I got this in my inbox yesterday:
Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out and share your passion for the arts. I am proud to say that we passed HB 1997 through the House late last night. This bill, as you know, will provide funding for the types of genuinely important arts and culture programs that help make Seattle, and Washington state as a whole, such an amazing and vibrant place to live. This bill was a top priority for me, and I deeply appreciate all of the hard work that you and your friends and neighbors did to support it. We could not have done it without you. Thanks again, and please continue to contact my office with your ideas and concerns.
Yes! Arts funding continues in WA state!
And Sen. Maria Cantwell makes a fantastic statement about the GOP attacks on women’s right. She’s right, it doesn’t make sense to cut jobs to build jobs. Unless they expect to start paying women to be homemakers. Not all of us are good enough at handicrafts to make it on Etsy, you know.
