You work hard, day and night, to till your social media fields. You grow groups of friends, plant spicy memes, play silly farming sim games, and at the end of the day, you feel exhausted yet content. But one day, a techbro rides in on his high horse and steals your data from your beautiful walled garden – your name, age, location, photos, hot takes, likes, and playlists. Will your techbro overlord use your personal data to benefit all? No, he misuses it to enrich himself and unleashes wild advertisements and A.I. monstrosities into your village. This, friends, is what it means to be a Techno-serf. It’s time to take power back in this technofeudal society! This show takes back your personal data and uses it for good (fun) to fight the bad (billionaire tech-jerks).

This show explores mediaturgy, a term coined by researcher Bonnie Marranca to describe the narrative-based world-building uses of technology onstage, to describe the consideration of how technology impacts us daily and why that technology, used for special effects or otherwise, becomes necessary to demonstrate in a live performance stage space.
