Sinister enough? Wouldn’t you like to leave this experience? Especially after playing some tough games questioning the nature of your reality! Agatha, Gabriel, and Harry – three generative artificial intelligence-powered characters – are also concerned about this ‘relaxing’ experience. Can you help them escape?

Inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, this interactive performance encourages better understanding of human-AI interactions and the nature of cyberspace vs. meatspace.

The research project received Non-Traditional Research Output (NTRO) status with Flinders University in May 2025. Our core questions considered the nature of human-computer interaction, ‘naturalistic’ dialogue between human performers, AI performers, and interactive human audiences, and how we could create a scaffolding around OpenAI to manage responses, reduce catastrophic forgetfulness or hallucinating, and maintain stable personalities.
